Description

This is a circa mid-19th century house, altered in the late 19th century. It is constructed of stuccoed walls with a slate hipped roof featuring deep, bracketed eaves, and rendered stacks with cornices. The plan is a double-depth square layout with the main entrance on the left side.

The house is built in an Italianate style. The two-storey, symmetrical south-east front has a string course with a Vitruvian scroll frieze, rusticated quoins, and two large, later 19th-century canted bay windows, each two stories high, with pilasters and cornices. The windows within the bays are sash windows without glazing bars. A porch is located on the left (south-west) side, featuring rusticated pilasters and a round arch. The interior has not been inspected. The house is part of a group of stuccoed Italianate villas along Lyndhurst Road.
