Description

This is a mid-19th century house of stucco construction with a slate hipped roof, characterised by deep, bracketed eaves and rendered chimneys topped with yellow clay pots. The house is rectangular and has a double-depth plan, with the main entrance on the left side. It is built in the Italianate style.

The symmetrical south-east front is two bays wide, featuring a band at the level of the first-floor window sills. The ground-floor bays have shallow projections with tripartite sash windows featuring glazing bars and modillion cornices. The first floor has two-light round-arched windows flanked by pilasters and narrow sashes with glazing bars. A stuccoed porch on the left (south-west) side features a round arch, a panelled door, and a fanlight. The interior of the house has not been inspected.

The house is part of a group of stuccoed villas along Lyndhurst Road.
