Description
This house, located at 11 Lyndhurst Road, dates from the mid-19th century and is designed in the Italianate style. It features a stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof with deep bracketed eaves, along with rendered stacks that have cornices.
The building has a rectangular double-depth plan with the entrance situated on the left side. It is two storeys high and presents a symmetrical two-bay front facing southeast. The façade includes moulded stringcourses and sash windows that lack glazing bars. The ground floor windows are framed by moulded architraves with cambered heads, keyblocks, and pilasters that support balustraded balconies above. The first-floor windows are adorned with moulded eared architraves and cambered arches, also featuring keyblocks.
To the left side, there is a two-storey porch with a round arch, spandrels, and a keyblock. On the right side, projecting towards the front, is a later 19th-century conservatory that includes a ridge ventilator topped with a crested ridge.
This house is part of a group of stuccoed Italianate villas along Lyndhurst Road.
