Description

ST THOMAS'S SQUARE 1. 1594 Nos 2 & 4

SU 1430 SW 1/309 II GV 2. C17/early C18 origin refronted late Cl8/early C19. 2 storeys stuccoed. Hipped old tile roof. Flat eaves with paired flat brackets. 5 windows, one blind, on 1st floor, recessed sashes, glazing bars intact, set lower to right. Modern shop front to left hand on ground floor. C19 4 panel door, rectangular fanlight, in surround of Doric pilasters and entablature. To right early Cl9 double shop front, 9 pane windows flanking door, altered. Interior has roof structure with remains of C17/C18 trusses.

Nos 2 & 4 form a group with Nos 28-28A Market Place (Cheese Market).
