Description
Nos 6 and 8 Barrack Street date to the 18th century. They are stucco-fronted buildings with a hipped roof covered in old slate. The buildings are three storeys high and feature a modillion eaves cornice. There are five ranges of sash windows, each with a moulded architrave, flush frames, and glazing bars. A doorway is present with a moulded architrave, a pulvinated frieze, a cornice supported by brackets, and panelled reveals, exhibiting an unusual arrangement of panels. A shop front has been inserted on one side. Nos 6 and 8 form a group with Nos 2 to 26 (even) on Barrack Street.
