Description
57 East Street is a mid-19th century building constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with a hipped, modern roof. The building is three storeys high. The second floor has two sash windows. The first floor features two canted wooden oriels with sash windows. Modern shop fronts are present, and facing Barrack Street are three ranges of sash windows. The building forms a group with numbers 37 to 47 (odd), the Unitarian Chapel, the Public Library, and numbers 53 to 57 (odd).
