Description

The building at 42 and 44 East Street is a pair of late 18th-century structures. They are built of colour-washed brick, with a pitched slate roof and a red brick stack. The buildings are three storeys high and feature four ranges of sash windows with glazing bars. Number 44 has a modern shop front, while number 42 has a 19th-century projecting bay shop front. Between the two properties is a planked doorway leading to a covered passageway, which has a blind fanlight above it.
