Description
78 London Road is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later 19th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone rubble, featuring an ashlar facade and a slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a three-unit plan and includes a red brick double-gabled rear extension built in English bond.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical arrangement of three windows. There is an early 19th-century platband and late 19th-century horned six-over-six pane sash windows, with the central window featuring a semicircular arch. The entrance consists of a four-panel door with bolection moulding at the base, leaded lights at the top, an overlight, and a shallow hood supported by brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
