Description

The Grey House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and squared, coursed rubble, with a storey band and coped gables. The roof is covered in stone slate, with ashlar end stacks set on moulded plinths. The house is two storeys plus an attic, and has a three-window front. The original six-panelled front door is centrally located, with the top two panels glazed; it has a lintel with a keystone. To either side of the front door are twelve-pane sashes. The first floor has a range of three twelve-pane sashes. All the windows have lintels with keystones and stone sills. Two gabled dormers light the attic, and there are further sashes visible in the right gable end. A large rear extension dating from the 20th century is not considered to be of special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to contain features of interest.
