Description
Thatch Cottage is an early 18th-century house constructed from squared, coursed limestone with quoins. It features a thatched roof and brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. On the ground floor, there is a set of four 20th-century casement windows, which include one- and two-light designs. The first floor has a range of three 20th-century casement windows, also one- and two-light, all set in their original openings. There is a small casement window in the left gable end, with a stone lean-to below it, and another small casement in the right gable end. The rear of the house has 20th-century doors and casements, featuring original chamfered wood lintels. Additionally, there is a 20th-century rendered and thatched brick range at the rear. Inside, the cottage has two open fireplaces with chamfered timber bressumers and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
