Description
The Grey Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was restored in the 20th century. It is built from squared, coursed limestone and has a stone slate roof with stone end stacks. The cottage has one storey plus an attic and features a two-window range with a two-unit plan. In the center, there is a 20th-century door and a gabled timber porch. To the left and right of the door are 20th-century three-light casements, with the right one having a concrete lintel. The gables on either side include a 20th-century three-light casement on the left and a two-light casement on the right. To the left, there is also a 20th-century one-storey stone range. Inside, the cottage has some stone flagged floors, chamfered spine beams, and timber and plaster partitions. There are two large open fireplaces, each with timber bressumers that are chamfered and include ogee stops.
