Description
Bassett Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed limestone with quoins, and has coped gables. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs around the building, and it is covered with tiles, featuring brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high, with a two-window front. The original plan comprised two units. A 20th-century glazed door is set within a 20th-century lean-to stone porch on the left-hand side. To the left of the porch is a 20th-century three-light window. The first floor has a 19th-century three-light casement window to the left and right, each with a wooden lintel. The interior is reported to contain beams and an old fireplace. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
