Description

Springfield Cottages, now two separate dwellings, were built in the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed of squared, coursed limestone, with an old tile roof and a brick end stack. They are two storeys high with a three-window arrangement. A later stone porch with a 20th-century plank door has been added to the centre right of the front facade. The ground floor features a 19th-century two-light casement window with eight panes of glass to the left and centre, a large 20th-century casement window to the right, and a further one-light casement to the far left. The first floor has three 19th-century two-light casement windows, each with eight panes of glass, some retaining their original wrought iron catches. The ground floor windows are topped with concrete lintels. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included on the heritage list for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
