Description

The accommodation bridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal dates from around 1810. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with some areas of brick patching. The bridge features a single low arch with a raised keystone. There is a plat band at the level of the roadway leading up to the parapet, which has rounded coping and end piers. The towpath is located on the north side of the canal within the bridge. The engineer for the canal was John Rennie.
