The Poplars is an early to mid-19th century house. It is two storeys and has an attic. The house is constructed of ashlar stone, with a slight central break, corner piers, a projecting plinth, a band above the ground floor, and an eaves band between the central and side piers. It has three windows, with glazing bar sash windows. A central projecting porch features Doric columns, a moulded frieze, a cornice, and a panelled blocking course. The front door is a three-panel door with a traceried fanlight. The roof is slate, with coped verges, moulded footstones, and gable end ashlar chimneys. Two 2-light casement dormers have moulded cornices. There is a single-storey extension to the east.
