Description

MARSH ROAD 1. 5411 (North Side) No 1 (Wharf Cottage) ST 86 SE 1/314 II GV 2. Early C19. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Painted stone with a 2 storey wide gabled extension continued to wharf. Rubble with pantile roof, and 2 ranges of windows to canal front. The main house has slab surrounds to windows with marginal glazing to sashes. Outside staircase on north side. Pigeon holes in angle to north east. Horizontal bands of decorative tiles (fish scale variety). Gable end brick chimneys. Central porch with tented canopy. Small windows to road.

Nos 2, 4 and Nos 1 and 3 form a group with the Kings Arms, Wyke Road.
