Description

Maxcroft House is an early 19th-century building located on Marsh Road. It is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble with slate roofs. The building has an irregular plan, including an extension that leads to a small warehouse on the canal side. A one-window projection to the south features corner bands, a band above the ground floor, and a hipped roof. The first-floor windows are glazing bar sash windows, some of which have been altered, while the ground-floor windows are largely casements. A porch is present on the east front. Maxcroft House forms a group with numbers 2 and 4, numbers 1 and 3, and the Kings Arms on Wyke Road.
