Description

The stable block and gate piers at No 166 (The Poplars) were built in the early to mid-19th century. The stable block is positioned at a right angle to the road and features a circular window in the gable, which has a coped verge and moulded footstones. The structure is made of coursed and dressed stone with a slate roof. On the south side, there are two windows flanking large double doors. The gate piers stand about 9 feet high and are topped with pyramidal capping.
