Description

Weavers Cottage is a detached cottage likely dating from the mid-18th century, with later extensions in the 20th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof with a hip to the front and a half-hip to the rear, along with an axial brick stack. The cottage presents a gabled end to the road. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. A central 20th-century door is set within a beaded architrave, topped with a flat stone hood supported by brackets, flanked by two-light, cyma-mullioned casement windows. The first floor has three cyma-mullioned casement windows. A gabled dormer, added in the 1960s, features a two-light casement window. The right and left returns of the cottage have two-light and four-light mullioned casement windows. The rear elevation includes two single-light windows and a four-light mullioned casement, along with a 20th-century gabled porch and a two-light attic casement. The interior was altered in the 1960s, and some fittings are reported to have originated from Rood Ashton House.
