Description

Milestone located approximately 200 metres south of the Wansdyke, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of limestone with a cast iron plate. The stone features a rounded top, and the plate on the front reads: LONDON 85. The lower section of the plate is triangular, indicating distances to the left: MARLBRO 10, and to the right: DEVIZES 4. The square lowest section reads: ..ORT DEVIZES.
