Description

The milepost in front of Milestone House is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and cast iron. The stone post has a rectangular section measuring 34 cm by 28 cm and stands 80 cm high, featuring a rounded top. Attached to the front is a round-headed iron plate with raised lettering that reads "LONDON" around the edge, along with "171 D" (where D stands for Doncaster) and "W 11" (where W stands for Wakefield).
