Description

These are three cottages located in Bishops Canning, Bourton. They likely date back to the 16th or 17th century and are timber-framed with whitewashed brick noggings, featuring a thatched roof. The cottages are single-storey with an attic. The cottage on the left is of three bays, while the right-hand pair is of two bays, with a half-bay forward wing. The left cottage has a stable door in the central bay and a canted oriel window to the left. A large stack is likely in the left bay, which may be an addition. Flush dormers are present in the central and left bays. Windrush Cottage, to the right, features a boarded door in the angle of the front wing. The cottages have 20th-century timber windows and a lean-to under an extension of the roof to the rear. The framing to the forward gable displays jowled posts and an ogee corner brace. The roof is half-hipped. A single-storey, 20th-century rear wing is attached to the left end. The interior is not documented but is said to have timber-framed walls.
