Description
Lynes House is a house built around 1836, constructed of brick with a facade made of ashlar limestone and topped with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and features a central through hall in a two-room deep plan with a staircase to the side. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a fanlight above, framed by a stone portico supported by paired Tuscan columns, and topped with a balustraded parapet. The house has raised end quoins and plat bands at each floor level. The windows are primarily twelve-paned sashes, with nine panes on the second floor. The roof is hipped and there are two ashlar chimney stacks with louvred pots. A 20th-century garage is attached to the right side of the house. The property was renovated in 1982.
