Description
Bourton Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century, 18th century, and early to mid-19th century. It features Flemish brickwork and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high, with a 17th-century block at the rear that is partly constructed from sarsen stone and has brick quoining. The east end has been rebuilt or extended, including a forward wing from the 18th century with diaper brickwork, and the entire structure was remodeled with a new front block in the 19th century.
The facade has four bays, with the entrance located in the third bay. This entrance consists of a half-glazed door that is sheltered by a swept lead canopy supported by clustered columns. The windows are sixteen-paned sashes with stone sills and wedge lintels, each featuring a keystone. The building has brick dentilled eaves and an external stack on the left gable facing the road. Inside, there is a large fireplace in the end gable, which has a chamfered fire lintel and an oven.
