Description

This milestone, located by the entrance to the old barracks in Bishops Cannings, dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a cast iron plate. The stone has a rounded top with the plate applied to the front, which reads "LONDON 87." The triangular lower section displays distances, with "MARLBRO 12" on the left and "DEVIZES 2" on the right. Additionally, there is a bench mark and pin on the top.
