Description

This 18th-century milestone is located 500 meters south of Three Barrows, on the northwest side of the A361 in Bishops Cannings. It is made of painted sarsen stone and features a triangular shaft with a hexagonal top and a square chamfered base. The milestone has painted inscriptions indicating distances: "84 miles to LONDON" on the top, "9 miles to MARLBRO" on the left, and "5 miles to DEVIZES" on the right.
