Description

This milestone, located approximately 380 meters south of the turn to Beckhampton Buildings, dates from the 18th century. It is made of painted sarsen stone and features a triangular shaft with a hexagonal top and a squared chamfered base, which is now buried. The painted inscriptions indicate distances, reading "83 MILES TO LONDON" on the top, "8 MILES TO MARLBRO" on the left, and "6 MILES TO DEVIZES" on the right.
