Description

Butler's Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Avebury, Beckhampton. It is constructed of whitewashed sarsen stone and features a thatched roof. The building is two storeys tall and has an 'L' plan layout. The original section consists of two bays with a gable stack, which has been extended beyond the stack by a cross passage and an additional bay, along with a later forward wing. The entrance is located at the rear, as the front entrance to the passage has been blocked. The cottage has 20th-century timber windows with 20th-century diamond leaded double glazing. There is an outshut at the rear, and the thatch is half hipped. The interior has been altered, and details were not available for viewing.
