Description

These are two farm cottages, originally a farmhouse, dating to the late 17th and 18th centuries. The cottages are built of sarsen stone with painted limestone dressings and have tiled roofs. They are two storeys and have an attic. The main part of the building is three bays wide, with a one-bay addition to the right. The central door is timber-framed with a glazed upper section and a stone lintel. The windows are 3-light, with stone relieving arches and leaded glazing, although one window above the door is 2-light. Moulded eaves and raised gables with kneelers feature on the front. The roof is a Mansard style with gable stacks and three dormers at the rear. The addition to the right appears to be contemporary, with similar windows, relieving arches, and a 6-panel door. It has a hipped dormer in a slate roof. A single-storey rear wing of one bay is present. To the left gable is an 18th-century bay with a Bridgewater tiled roof.
