Description

The garden figure located at the south end of the west walk of Avebury Manor is a garden statue dating from 1826. It is made of Carrara marble and was created by Gae Monti of Ravenna. The statue depicts a draped muse in motion, with her right hand on her hip and her left hand lifting the hem of her drapery. At her feet lies a broken lyre, and the figure is set upon a two-stage marble pedestal.
