Description
There are four statues located along the crescent path near the southwest end of Waddesdon Manor. These statues, dating from the 18th to 19th centuries, are copies of antique pieces made from carved white marble. The female figures represented are:
a) Diana of Gabii
b) Ceres from the Vatican Museum
c) The Muse Euterpe from the National Museum in Stockholm
d) The Muse Polyhymnia from the Louvre
All the statues are less than life size and are mounted on cylindrical stone pedestals that feature moulded bases and cornices.
