Description
This listing describes a pair of statues located at the east end of the upper south terrace in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor. The statues date from the 18th to 19th century and are copies of classical works. One statue depicts Cupid and Psyche, modeled after a piece found in the Capitoline Museum in Rome. The other statue represents Bacchus and Ariadne, based on a work in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Both statues are set on 19th-century stone pedestals that feature moulded bases, cornices, and panels.
