Description
Hollis Cottage is a cottage at the end of a row, built in 1710 for Samuel Fowler. It features colourwashed brick with a tiled roof, while the left bay is made of colourwashed sarsen stone. The cottage has two storeys and four bays, originally designed with a three-bay lobby entry plan that includes a central boarded door set within an arched brick and tiled porch. There are various 19th-century timber windows throughout. The left bay has a half-glazed door with a lead-clad hood supported by brackets. An additional sarsen bay was added to the left end, along with another bay at the rear, both featuring similar windows. The cottage has a central brick chimney stack and another stack on the gable of the added bay. Inside, there is a fire beam above a stone fireplace and ogee chamfered stops on the spine beam.
