Description
Pearce's Cottage is a cottage located at the end of a row, dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a sarsen stone left gable and features a large stack. The original thatched roof has been replaced with tiles. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of a living hall, an inner room, and a 19th-century kitchen at the rear. There is an off-centre door leading to the main room, and a second door that is now blocked. The windows are from the 19th century, with three lights on the ground floor and two lights on the upper floor, all set within cambered brick arched openings and featuring a flush blue brick string course. Inside, there is a bar-stop chamfered spine beam and a timber-framed partition to the inner room, which has been replaced on the ground floor. The large fireplace includes a chamfered fire beam and two brick ovens, along with a late 19th-century range in the inner room.
