Description

This milestone is located approximately 480 meters east of Beckhampton roundabout, along the old Bath Road. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of colourwashed sarsen stone. The milestone has a triangular shaft with a hexagonal top. It features painted inscriptions that read "LONDON 81" on the top face, "MARLBRO 6" on the left side, and "CALNE 6" on the right side. There is also a brass pin and a bench mark on the top.
