Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located on the parish boundary with Manton Parish in Marlborough. It is made of painted stone and features a triangular stem with a lozenge-shaped top. The painted inscriptions indicate distances: on the left side, "MARLBRO' 1"; on the right side, "CALNE 11"; and on the top face, "LONDON 76". Additionally, there is a hidden inscription at the foot that reads "BATH 30".
