Description
Manton Weir is a mid-18th century structure that was altered and re-roofed in the 19th century. It is built of red brick, with some sections featuring a chequer pattern, and has ashlar quoins and keystones. The building has a pitched tile roof and red brick stacks that have 19th-century cornicing added. It stands two storeys tall with attics and features a 19th-century eaves cornice and a moulded ashlar water table at the plinth. The facade includes four ranges of sash windows with glazing bars, with the ground floor windows being cased. There are also four 19th-century gabled dormers with herringbone brick fronts and casement windows. Inside, there is a mid-18th-century staircase with turned balusters.
