Description
This milestone is located approximately 0.75 miles west of the Beckhampton roundabout on the Old Bath Road. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of colourwashed sarsen stone. The milestone has a triangular shaft with a hexagonal top and chamfers at the square base. The painted inscriptions indicate distances: "82 Miles to LONDON" at the top, "7 Miles to MARLBRO" on the left, and "5 Miles to CALNE" on the right.
