Description
Chandlers is a house located on Chandlers Lane in Bishops Cannings, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick noggings and a thatched roof. The building is single storey with attics but has been raised to two storeys on the north side. It consists of three bays, which have been extended towards the road by an additional two bays. The framing has three panels high and is extended upwards on the rear by two more panels above the wall plate, likely added in the late 17th century. There are framed gables over the first and third bays. The entrance is located in the single storey wing on the second bay, opposite the main stack. The house has canted timber oriel windows with stone slate roofs and some diamond lead glazing. There are linked brick stacks at the centre and a second stack on the added bay, which also features a gable entrance and porch. The interior has not been seen.
