Description
Mere Cottage is a small house located at the end of a former terrace, dating from the early 19th century or possibly the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with large irregular flush quoins on the left side and has a plain tile roof. The building stands two storeys high and features one window with 12-pane sashes, which have flush voussoirs. To the left of the window is a late 20th-century door that includes a built-in fanlight above the original voussoirs. There is a brick stack on the left side of the house. A lean-to on the left has broad plank doors beneath a triangular glazed area. Although it is a very modest property, it remains largely unaltered externally aside from the door and represents typical street architecture of its time, alongside the adjoining shop and house to its right.
