Description
The entrance doorway and wall to the left of the Lecture Hall is likely from the 18th century. It is made of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings. The wall measures about 3.5 meters in length and rises to a stone coping at approximately 3 meters, featuring a swept down section to the right and a moulded flat pyramidal capping at about the midpoint. On the left end, there is a plank door that leads to a small courtyard of the Meeting House, which is not included in this listing. The door is framed by a pilaster surround with a flat elliptical head and a projecting keystone. This structure is adjacent to an entrance to Dewes House and shares similar details, although it is separately constructed. It plays an important role in maintaining the continuity of the street.
