Description

Lower Margate is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of local rubble walls with flat arches above the openings, and has a rag slate hipped roof with rendered end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan, with a small later wing added at the rear to the left. The symmetrical front elevation has three windows arranged over two storeys, with original 16-pane hornless sash windows. The central doorway is sheltered by an early 19th-century glazed, gable-ended porch with glazing bars, and contains a top-glazed panelled door. The rear of the house also features original sash windows and casements. The interior is reportedly largely original, though it has not been inspected.
