Description
The Round House, located on Mason's Lane, is a circular building likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and stands four storeys high, with each stage reducing in diameter and featuring a plain string at each floor level. The roof is a shallow cone covered with slate, topped by a tall ashlar chimney-stack on the right side. The eaves overhang and are supported by paired curved brackets. Each floor has a pair of windows, which are casements set in lancet-arched freestone surrounds. At the rear, there is a panelled door. This building is a prominent feature in the townscape of Bradford-on-Avon. The Round House, along with Nos 4 to 6, forms a group.
