Description

9 Bridge Street comprises a group of buildings dating from the 18th century. The building fronts are simple classical in style and are finished with cement render on numbers 7 to 9, and scribed render on Bradford House. The roof is slate, with two cement-rendered, one brick, and one rubble chimney stack.

Numbers 7 and 8 have a three-window front on the left side, while number 9 has a three-window front and Bradford House a single window. The windows are mostly 12-pane sashes, recessed, and feature voussoir lintels and keystones. A band course runs between the storeys of numbers 7 and 8. There is a modern shop front on the left side, a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor to the left of number 9, with a later bay window to the right. A four-pane sash window is located on the first floor of Bradford House.

An arched entrance to number 9 has a five-pane fanlight and a later half-glazed door; Bradford House has a recessed modern door with a banded surround.

A two-window canted projection extends from the right side, with an additional storey situated just above water level. An adjoining low, two-storey building to the left is not of particular architectural interest.
