Description
Bradford House, including J W Thomas & Son, is a group of three-storey buildings with simple classical fronts. The facades of Nos 7 to 9 are finished in cement render, while Bradford House features scribed render. The buildings have hipped slate roofs and a combination of chimney stacks made from cement render, brick, and rubble.
Nos 7 and 8 have a three-window arrangement on the left, No 9 has three windows, and Bradford House has one window. Most windows are 12-pane sash windows that are recessed and feature voussoir lintels and keystones, with a band course separating the storeys on Nos 7 and 8. There is a modern shop front to the left, a 12-pane sash window on the ground floor to the left of No 9, and a later bay window to the right. Bradford House has a 4-pane sash window on the first floor. The entrance to No 9 is arched and includes a 5-pane fanlight and a later half-glazed door, while Bradford House has a recessed modern door with a banded surround.
The right side of the building is canted and features a two-window arrangement, with an additional storey just above water level. There is a low two-storey building adjoining to the left, which is not of special interest.
