Description

Bradford House and The Cottage is a house that was originally a pair of cottages, dating from the early 19th century with later alterations. The building is constructed of roughcast stone with gritstone dressings and features chamfered quoins on Bradford House. It has slate roofs with stone-coped gables, plain kneelers, and stone gable end stacks.

Bradford House, located to the east, has a canted plan and consists of two bays and three storeys. It features a flush doorcase with small, fluted blocks on either side of the lintel, leading to a panelled door. On either side of the doorcase are glazing bar sash windows in plain surrounds, with the eastern window set a considerable distance from the door. Above, there are two similar windows positioned in the same manner, and at the eaves, two shallower sash windows with a similar window between them.

Attached to the west is The Cottage, which has a flush doorcase with a glazing panelled door and a similar blocked doorcase to the west. Beyond this, there is a pair of glazing bar sash windows in flush surrounds, and to the east, a single glazing bar sash window. Above The Cottage, there are two glazing bar sash windows in flush surrounds. The building is included for its group value only.
