Description
Rose Cottage and Sunny View are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of coursed limestone and gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The cottages have a slate roof with a stone ridge and stone gable end stacks. Each cottage is two storeys high and has two bays.
Rose Cottage, located to the west, has a step up to a central flush doorcase with a 20th-century plank door. On either side of the door, there are two-light flush mullion windows, which include fixed and casement metal windows with Gothic tracery tops. Above these, there are two similar windows, but the casements have been replaced by 20th-century leaded replicas.
Sunny View Cottage, to the east, has an identical elevation, except it features a 20th-century studded wooden door, and all metal casements have also been replaced by 20th-century leaded replicas.
