Description

Mill Bridge is an 18th-century bridge that was raised in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and gritstone ashlar. The bridge is narrow and features a single segmental arch made of dressed voussoirs, with coursed squared gritstone spandrels. Above the arch, there are plain ashlar parapets that slope upwards toward the center. Each ashlar block is inscribed with a letter and number. The copings on the river sides are chamfered, while the copings on the inside are flush with the parapets. The walls are splayed at both ends.
