Description
Hill View and the attached barn are a house and barn built in the late 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 19th century. The structure is made of rendered stone with gritstone dressings and features stone slate roofs, with the barn having a hipped roof. The house is two storeys tall and consists of two bays, while the barn is a single storey with one bay.
On the west side of the house, there is a 2-light flush mullion window to the north, accompanied by a 20th-century glazed door and a small single light window in a former doorcase to the south. Further south, there is a large glazing bar sash window in a flush surround, and above it is another 2-light flush mullion window. The barn is attached to the rear at the northern corner, with its main facade facing south. This facade features a large flat-headed arch flanked by Doric columns on either side. Near the eaves above the arch, there are two large decorative stone plaques, fluted on either side with a diamond design carved in relief.
