Description
Fern Glen is a house from the early 19th century that has undergone various later alterations. It is constructed of rendered stone with painted dressings and features gritstone quoins on the east side. The roof is made of stone slate and includes stone gable end and ridge stacks, as well as a stone-coped gable with plain kneelers on the east. The house has three bays and two storeys. There is a plain plinth on either side of a central, flush, semi-circular headed doorcase that has raised impost blocks, a panelled door, and a traceried fanlight. On either side of the doorcase are plain sashes set in slightly raised plain surrounds. Above the door, there are three similar windows. Fern Glen was built as a pair with an attached house and is included in the listing for its group value.
